Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, known in Japan as Mario & Luigi RPG 2x2, is a role-playing game developed by AlphaDream and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS handheld game console in 2005. It is the second game in the Mario and Luigi RPG series, and is the sequel to Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for the Game Boy Advance.

Alphadream infuses quite a bit of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island in this installment. The loony Professor E. Gadd first starts a fiasco by opening up time rifts everywhere, which causes the brothers and Princess Toadstool to get sucked into the past. 

 

But that’s not quite the worst of it – an evil alien race called the Shroobs have invaded the Mushroom Kingdom , and are out to take over the planet (and kidnap princesses, apparently.) Only by teaming up with their diaper-wearing doppelgangers and zipping through time can Mario and Luigi hope to save the day.

Partners in Time was positively received by the media, gaining an aggregate score of 86.80% from Game Rankings and a 87 from Metacritic. Like its predecessor, the game was praised by critics for its characterization and comical style, as well as its use of the DS's dual screen.

Angry Birds Rio 1.4.2.0 - Free full download

Video games based on movies are almost always universally terrible, and this seemed like a prime situation for Rovio do to a quick cash-in on Rio, with hype around the movie and Angry Birds in general making the game sell well anyway.

 

Angry Birds Rio basically plays the same way, but the entire game feels like it has been upgraded. Quite a bit of the interface has been redone, there are far more things to collect, and they've even added parallax scrolling to give the game quite a bit more visual depth.

You can expect to get a lot with 60 new levels, each with a hidden fruit making it all the more compelling and possibly worth a replay. But even if you don't replay all the levels, you'll catch yourself catapulting the birds on a samba beat as the music is remade to fit the Rio theme.

7 Wonders II - Free download

It takes over 400 years to build seven wonders plus one surprise wonder, but of course time isn't to scale when playing 7 Wonders II. The sequel to 7 Wonders of the Ancient World explores all new wonders including Stonehenge, The Colosseum, Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, Shwedagon Pagoda, Angkor Wat, the statues on Easter Island and one secret wonder which you won't find until you've put together seven pieces of a map you find at the other locations.

The runes get a makeover from the original 7 Wonders of the Ancient World's shiny runes to the newer more stone-styled runes with etching that clearly depicts an object. Each rune is associated with a wonder, so making matches with the rune while building its wonder speeds its construction. A selected rune does a little spin as it awaits its next move, adding to the game's character. The tutorial does its job well in orienting a player to the game's rules and controls.


7 Wonders II's visuals are hardly original, but they are charming. As you proceed to move around gems on the bottom screen, characters run around on top, so you're not just looking at a static wallpaper. The music is pretty good too, though hardly original. Hey, I'll take familiar, comfortable tunes over grating elevator-muzak style mush any day.
